Vivek Kulkarni, IAS (Retd.) - President

Vivek Kulkarni is the Chairman and CEO of Brickwork India based in Bangalore, India, which is a knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) firm that offers Remote Executive Assistant services. Their clients include large Fortune 500 firms, investment bankers, management consultants, senators, hedge funds, healthcare professionals etc. Brickwork has been mentioned by Tom Friedman in his New York Times best seller “The World is Flat, by Tim Ferris in “The 4 hour Workweek”, in Business Week China-India survey, Fortune, London Sunday Times, Esquire, several European newspapers, FOX TV and a large number of Indian media.

Vivek has over 25 years of experience in managing different verticals of Business and Government departments. He was the IT (Information Technology) Secretary, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore. During his tenure in Government, he was instrumental in building world-class IT & Biotech institutes and events in Karnataka. He promoted public-private partnership in Governance. He worked actively in marketing Bangalore as the undisputed IT Capital of India. Prior to IT Secretary, he worked as Finance Secretary, Head of CRISIL Advisory Services as well as the Division Chief SEBI. He was a faculty at the Boston University as well as the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. At present, he is a visiting professor in finance at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

He is a charter member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) as well as public interest Director at the Bombay Stock Exchange. Vivek Kulkarni is a gold medallist in engineering from Karnataka University as well as an MBA from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.

 

S Gopalakrishnan

S Gopalakrishnan (Kris) is co-founder and CEO of Infosys and has served as a Director since 1981. From 1996 to 1998 Kris was the Head of Client Delivery and Technology and from 1994 the Head of Technical Support Services for Infosys. From 1987 to 1994, he was Technical Vice President and managed all projects at the US-based KSA/Infosys. Kris is an M.Sc. in Physics and an M.Tech. in Computer Science from IIT, Chennai.

 

Prof. N. Balakrishnan

Prof. Balki is the Associate director of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He is responsible for the creation of the Centre for Microprocessor Applications, the National Centre for Science Information. He was the Founder- Chairman of the Supercomputer Education & Research Centre at IISc till November 2001. He has received many prestigious awards for his work from national and international bodies. In 2002, the President of India honored him with the Padmashree award. Prof. Balki received his B.E.(Hons) in Electronics and Communication from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, University of Madras, and his PhD from the IISc.

 

Ghanshyam Dass

Ghanshyam Dass is the Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, NASDAQ Stock Market Inc. He has an outstanding career in domestic and international banking. Prior to joining NASDAQ he was the General Manager and Chief Executive of Majan International Bank (A subsidiary of Commerz Bank A. G., Frankfurt, Germany) in the Sultanate of Oman. He also worked on several assignments, including the British Bank of the Middle East for two years as the Chief Executive Officer for its India operations and with the HSBC for ten years. He was also with the US Educational Foundation in India, Bank of India, Wells Fargo Bank, San Francisco (as Assistant Representative for India) and Marine Midland Bank, New York. Ghanshyam Dass holds a Bachelors degree with Honours in Economics from Delhi University, and a Masters in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

 

Saumitra Chaudhuri

Saumitra Chaudhuri is Member, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister and also Economic Advisor & Research Co-ordinator at ICRA. He is the Chairman of the Committee for Formulation of All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback 2005-06 of the Ministry of Finance. He was Senior Economist with the Joint Plant Committee (JPC), Ministry of Steel & Mines, and Economist with the Bureau of Industrial Costs & Prices (BICP), Ministry of Industry. Presently he is Member, Advisory Board of the Fixed Income Money Market & Derivatives Association of India (FIMMDA). He has worked with ICRIER on an Industrial Development Plan for Orissa (2001: UNIDO & DFID) and on a Report on the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry (2002: World Bank). Consultant on the World Bank Cotton Sector Study: Cotton Yarn Spinning, 1996; World Bank's Resident Mission in Bangladesh on a study on Labour Costs in select industries, 1994; and World Bank's Steel Mission in India, 1986. He is Executive Editor of Money & Finance. He has written several monographs and about a dozen research papers. He also writes columns in The Financial Express, and earlier in The Economic Times and Business Standard.

 

Dr. P. R. Krishnaswamy

Dr. Krishnaswamy is Former Executive Director of Sagar Apollo Hospital , and a former director of Manipal Hospital Diagnostic Services and Research and was Founder Director of Mallya Hospital . He was Head of Laboratories of Pathology and Research at Jaslok Hospital , Mumbai for over 15 years.  He was President, Group R&D,UB Group, and Founder-Director of Vittal Mallya Scientific Research Foundation, pioneering biotechnology R&D programs. He was on the faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston ; The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, and visiting faculty at Scripps Clinic and La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation. He has published more than 90 articles in National & International scientific journals. He is also Member of many national and international research institutes/societies. Dr. Krishnaswamy holds an M.Sc. ( University of Bombay ) and a D.Sc. ( University of Mysore ) from IISc. He is a Fellow of the Indian College of Cardiology for his contributions to the understanding of Cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.

 

Kumud Sampath

Kumud Sampath is Vice President-International, United States Pharmacopeia-India Pvt.Ltd. which provides a broad range of pharmacopoeial services to customers in India and surrounding countries. Kumud was previously President & Executive Director of AstraZeneca India (Pvt) Ltd. Prior to that position, she was Vice President-Business Development & Operations for Astra Biochemicals Pvt. Ltd.. She has also been the Chair of the South Zonal Export Promotion Council, a Member of the Biotechnology Vision Group (Karnataka, India), and a Member of the governing board of the Karnataka Biotechnology Development Council. Kumud earned her MBA from the University of Delhi and participated in the IMD program in Lausanne, Switzerland.
